Simply described, The Queen’s Cartoonists perform music from cartoons. Pulling from over 100 years of animation, TQC brings animated films to life, perfectly synchronizing their performances with the films projected on stage.
Watch your favorite classic cartoon characters, such as Betty Boop, Popeye, Yogi Bear, the Pink Panther, Bugs Bunny and the Flintstones, as the band deftly matches the high-energy onscreen action, leading the audience through a world of virtuosic musicianship, multi-instrumental mayhem, and comedy.
Under the direction of Lt. Colonel Cristina Moore Urrutia, this military musical unit is comprised of 40 talented and versatile active duty Airmen-musicians stationed at Travis Air Force base in California. The ensemble serves the western region of the United States by performing over 250 annual concerts for 1.5 million listeners. Musical selections include patriotic marches, jazz standards, pop hits, featured vocalists and more.
