This musical play tells the true story of Patsy Cline’s friendship with a Houston housewife who met the star in a Texas honky-tonk in 1961. Patsy continued the relationship by sending hand-written letters until the day she died tragically in a plane crash. Complete with down-home country humor and true emotion, the show stars Cindy Summers as Patsy Cline (Oliver, Showboat) and Misty Rowe as Louise Seger (Hee Haw, Happy Days). The performance features a live 5-piece band and 27 of Patsy’s unforgettable hits such as “Crazy,” “I Fall to Pieces,” “Sweet Dreams,” and “Walking After Midnight.”

Learn about the Preserve’s historic stand of California fan palms, how these tropical trees can grow in the desert Southwest, and their importance to both wildlife and native cultures. Did you know that these palms were sourced from a native population in Arizona? Find out more! We will be hosting this table inside the Preserve Visitor Center. Afterwards, you can check out the palm grove out on the trails. At this time of year the palms are fruiting, so you may see a variety of birds and mammals feeding on the fruit!

Invoking a mystifying musical fusion of exquisite classical sounds and exhilarating hip-hop beats, the two-time Grammy nominated duo is led by classically trained musicians Wil Baptiste (viola) and Kev Marcus (violin). Together they are re-conceptualizing what a violin concert looks and sounds like, building bridges to a place where Mozart, Marvin Gaye and Kendrick Lamar harmoniously coexist.

Join photographer/filmmaker Pete McBride on an epic quest, on foot, through the entire length of the Grand Canyon — not “rim to rim” as has been tackled by many — but 750 miles “end to end.” Hiking over 100 days, Pete and adventure writer Kevin Fedarko traversed mostly along goat trails, through slot canyons, blinding sun, and snow. As a part of the new Changemaker Speaker Series, Pete will share with us live his experiences in the Grand Canyon during this multi-media presentation.
