Did you know that over 300 species of birds have been found at the Hassayampa River Preserve? Enjoy an easy-paced walk with seasoned birder and bird bander Anne Leight to spot and identify the many resident and migratory birds of the Preserve. Some binoculars are available to borrow. MEETING LOCATION: Preserve Visitor Center.

The Wickenburg Home & Garden Tour is an annual event that is hosted by Las Senoras De Socorro. Las Senoras is an auxiliary to the Desert Caballeros Western Museum. The Home & Garden Tour is a single day event.
5 Homes in the Wickenburg area are chosen to represent the gardens, architecture and lifestyle of Arizona Living. You may have read a bit about each of these homes in the Wickenburg Sun News.
Tickets are $25.00 per person and can be purchased in advance online or on the day of the event, November 4, at the Wickenburg Community Center.
Tour participants can start and finish their tour at any of the 5 homes on the tour. Tour home address and a map will be provided via email to online ticket purchasers and can also be picked up at the Wickenburg Community Center. Homes are open from 9am-4pm. Order Tickets.

On November 11th 2023, from 11am - 7 pm we will have a FREE Community Celebration honoring the revival of a historic site that has been near and dear to the hearts of the local community for generations. This 1899 building originally was on the train tracks in Morristown, AZ and was the layover hotel for wealthy travelers going to the Castle Hot Springs Resort, before taking a 5-8 hour stagecoach ride to get there. In the 1930's, with cars becoming popular, the hotel was moved 500 ft and positioned along Highway 60. It had gas pumps out front, a mechanics shop, and it became the local general store, with a bar on the side, and at one point the post office was located inside the building. With economic changes over time, the store closed. The building was vacant and remained boarded up for over 20 years.
The historic building was purchased by Lisa Miller in 2022 and restored back to the 1899 Wild West Cowboy theme. It's open to the public for free guided hotel tours given by history buffs, there is onsite camping & gold panning and it's a place for community gatherings, and bringing people together.
A commemorative pictorial postmark stamp of the 1899 Historic Hotel from the Morristown Station will be used that day and we will have a community celebration at the 1899 Historic Hotel in honor of the occasion.
November 11th, 2023 is on Veterans Day, which is also a day to commemorate. At the celebration event there will be food trucks, sweet treats, gold panning, free hotel history tours, and we will sell commemorative postcards with the stamp on it. Steve and Nancy Montgomery of Pops Pens Woodshop, in Morristown, AZ helped create the design for the postmark stamp image and will be there with their wood engraved 1899 Historic Hotel merchandise, which is available for purchase. Come out and join the celebration!
