Did you know that over 300 species of birds have been found at the Hassayampa River Preserve? Enjoy an easy-paced walk with seasoned birder and bird bander Anne Leight to spot and identify the many breeding resident birds of the Preserve. Some binoculars are available to borrow. To register, please call the Preserve visitor center at 928-684-2772. Space is limited.

Important Notes:

  • Sign-up is required for all programs unless otherwise noted, and capacity for each program is limited to 10 people.  Please call the Preserve Visitor Center at 928-684-2772 to register for programs.  If you find you cannot attend a program you have registered for, please call the Preserve Visitor Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list.
  • NEW: To improve fairness for all interested in the limited spaces for our programs, each party/household may not sign up for more than 1 of the same type of program per month (i.e. you can sign up for a bird and a night walk, but not 2 bird walks or 2 night walks per month), and each party/household will only be allowed up to 5 spaces per program.
  • Programs are all ages, but might not be suitable for toddlers or young children. Most guided programs involve at least 0.5-1 mile of walking on mostly flat, but sometimes uneven ground.

Join Ranger Eric for a guided walk along the river and lake trails to explore the fascinating world of dragonflies and damselflies. We’ll also see other aquatic and riparian wildlife along the way! To register, please call the Preserve Visitor Center at 928-684-2772.

Along the way we will discuss how to identify birds by sight and sound, and about the behavioral and ecological traits that make them unique. Some binoculars are available to borrow. COST: $10 per person; Chairman's Circle members receive two free tickets

Join us for the July Business After Hours Mixer with the Desert Caballeros Western Museum! We'll be networking at the Cultural Crossroads Learning Center, located beside the main museum building on Frontier Street. Mix and mingle with other members, and get to know others in the Wickenburg business community!

Members also have the opportunity to grab the mic during "Take 5" to share any news, updates, or information with the group.

The Wickenburg Sheriff's High Desert Search & Rescue (HDSAR) Posse (Established June 22, 1973) is having a SALE (Garage/Yard items to include UTV side-by-side, UTV trailer, generator, etc...) this coming Friday (22 July, 2022) and Saturday (23 July, 2022) from 6:00 AM (06:00) to 2:00 PM (14:00) daily.

All proceeds, and donations, will go to purchasing equipment to increase their operational capability to find those in need.
The location of the sale is at 1855 Constellation Rd., Wickenburg, AZ 85390 (adjacent to the Wickenburg Sportsmen's Club). After turning off Constellation Rd. stay to the [right at the fork] right to the top of the hill.

Join us for this 45-minute fun and interactive program which provides children with safety tips such as staying in one place using trees, and how to be "big" and get noticed by people searching for them. There are demonstrations on signaling for help using a whistle and a reflector, as well as how to stay dry and warm using a trash bag. Participants receive a free survival pack. This program is geared for kids ages 6-12. All children need to be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian. To register, please call the Preserve Visitor Center at 928-684-2772.
