“Arizona’s Largest Gold Strike Combines History & Art in Upcoming Exhibition”
Vulture City Ghost Town, home to Arizona’s record-breaking gold strike and notorious for its violent history, is presenting “Arts Weekend”, a premier public exhibition of over 90 original works of art and photography created by Arizona artists entered in the statewide “Impressions of Vulture Mine City” art contest which began in January. This non-traditional art exhibition will be curated at three locations: Vulture City Ghost Town, the Hassayampa River Preserve and the Wickenburg Art Club gallery. Entry ticket covers full admission to all three venues for three full days.
The exhibition opens to the public on Friday, April 8,th and runs through Sunday, April 10th. There will be public “fan favorite” voting and all artwork and photography will be for sale to support Vulture City Preservation, the Hassayampa River Preserve, the Wickenburg Art Club and art organizations throughout Arizona. Vulture City has over 16 restored 19th century buildings open for tour and the Hassayampa River Preserve is one of the only remaining “free-flowing” rivers in Arizona that still flows above ground; a natural oasis nearly extinct in central Arizona. It offers beautiful marshes and walking trails for the whole family.
Vulture City Arts Weekend Hours:
Friday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sunday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

To register, please call the Preserve Visitor Center at 928-684-2772.
